Volkswagen T4 Transporter Holdsworth Vision XL Camper Model History
Following on from the first version of the VW T4 Transporter Vision model in circa 1993 Richard Holdsworth Conversions released a new version called the Holdsworth Vision XL Camper. It was available with a high top roof only and the interior layout was similar in design to the earlier VW T4 Holdsworth Vision but with updated upholstery and improved design and specification. The interior had a rear kitchen and a central living / bed area. 3) Volkswagen T4 Transporter Holdsworth Vision XL Colour Options As far as I know the VW Holdsworth Vision XL was initially available in 1 colour. T7T7 Grey White R902 (Grauweiß) (with white roof)
4) Volkswagen T4 Transporter Holdsworth Vision XL Furniture Specification The Volkswagen T4 Transporter Holdsworth Vision XL layout consisted of:
A) Fully adjustable swivelling cab seats with pneumatic lumbar support.
B) & C) Three burner Spinflo stainless steel cooker and grill (with specially designed heat resistant laminated lid so that it can be folded away when not in use) and cupboard below. Stainless steel sink (with specially designed heat resistant laminated lid so that it can be folded away when not in use) and cupboards below. Below the sink is a small hinged flap which gives access to a useful area for stores and utensils.
D) Wardrobe.
E) Electrolux RM 212 E three way refrigerator with freezer compartment.
F) Two single beds or large double bed can be formed by combination of reclining cab seats and forward facing rear seats. Upholstery was available with either blue stripe or pink stripe fabric.
H) Crash tested forward facing rear seats with lap belt restraints.
J) Roof cabinet on each side at rear.
K) Slide out storage
L) Storage drawers below wardrobe and fridge.
Side sliding door.
Stainless steel ladder with roof rack.
Other features include: Removable rear table (stored at rear of van adjacent to fridge when not in use). Full carpeting throughout. CEC 225 (Plug In Systems) mains electric hook up with safety protection via RCCD circuit breaker and two MCB’s . A 240 volt outlet socket inside van next to zig unit. Zig electrical control panel with master switches for 12 volt lighting system and water pump. Zig WG 2000 water level gauge.
54.5 litre (12 gallon) fresh water tank for pressurised water system with electrically pumped water tap via water pump. Opening sliding window with intermediate locking position (thus allowing ventilation with security) behind sink and cooker. Fluorescent lights and spot light. Rear seat restraint straps. Head rests on both cab seats. Fire extinguisher. Intermittent wipe and two speed wipers. Padded steering wheel. Two courtesy lights. Thermally lined curtains. Specially selected seat fabrics with fire retardant foam. Tableware for four. Heated rear window with wash wipe. Wheel trims.
5) Options available at extra cost included: Firetrace fire extinguisher system. Roof mounted two berth bunk bed. Thermostatically controlled Propex blown air heating system which is flued to exterior of vehicle. Heater is installed beneath rear seating unit.
6) Volkswagen T4 Transporter Holdsworth Vision XL Hightop Roof Specification Fully insulated roof.
Opening roof vent for fresh air Overhead storage lockers above drivers cab.
Optional removable shelf for extra storage in front of overhead lockers.
7) Volkswagen T4 Transporter Holdsworth Vision XL Side Stripes and Logos There was normally a small blue or brown Vision XL logo and stripe on the front and rear of the vehicle and a matching design stripe on the side.
The hightop roof had a blue or brown stripe on the front / front side and a Vision XL logo and stripe behind the side window and on the roof rear as shown below:
